Description

  • Fatalii Chilli – Grown in Somerset, roasted, medium/high heat, this chilli is unique, fruity and a well kept secret – must try!
  • Pineapple – Whole pineapple bought in Somerset, chopped, diced and blended
  • Kiwi – Fresh kiwi bought in Somerset, peeled and blended
  • Passionfruit – Fresh passion fruit bought in Somerset, deseeded and blended into the sauce
The Name comes from the exotic nature of this sauce,
‘La Playa’ means ‘The Beach’ in Spanish and this is exactly what this sauce conveys!
What La Playa goes best with:
  • Livening up any sandwich or fried breakfasts
  • As a new twist on fried chicken or in chicken burgers
  • As a chutney on crackers with any cheese
  • Inside chicken wraps instead of mayonnaise
  • As an amazing pizza dip
  • Anything Carribean
  • Also works well with chips

  1. HabaneroMike

You get a pineapple and fatalli aroma first, followed by a hint of kiwi and finished off with lemon, garlic and onion.
It’s got a mellow autumnal brown hue, with a medium thick consistency and good solid mouthfeel. There’s plenty of kiwi and passion fruit seeds visible too.
The first taste you get is a sweet burst from the passion fruit which is quickly followed by the kick from the fatalli chilli. This kicks in and winds up to a hefty 7/10 full mouth burn lasting over 5 minutes and a dose of the chilli sniffs. There’s an interesting crunch from the kiwi and passion fruit seeds which gives a pleasant twist to this sauce.
Overall a really well made mid range hot sauce with a well balanced blend of fruit and mid heat chilli.

Love the choice of flavours. La Playa is my favourite.
We even put some in a curry recently and it blended excellently with Madras!
